The Ice District may be known as the beating heart of the Oilers, but off season the rooftop is a large capacity venue perfect for a P-A-R-T-Y! Specifically a 2nd birthday for a sweet little boy.

The birthday family have been living in Calgary for over a decade but return to Edmonton often to visit family. This past summer, Edmonton was the gathering place for family from around Canada. I was honoured to capture these moments and memories for the family.

With over 200 guests of all ages, there was, quite literally, something for everyone. Kids enjoyed games and a balloon animal artist, while adults practised their swing in the rooftop batting cages. After 2hrs of fun the birthday boy just wanted cake & his nap!

Perfect timing for a Zumba session then!

With the kids napping, the adults turned up the energy – led by Grandpa Tang – a City of Edmonton Rec Centre Zumba instructor.
