There is something magical about being by the water. Hearing the sound of the waves lapping against the shore, the feeling of sand under foot and the bright sun glistening off the water. Beaches are undoubtedly the setting for so many of childhood’s core memories.

It was such a pleasure to join A + I and their beautiful family on the beach in Vancouver. This was less about formal family portraits and more about celebrating what makes their family so beautiful through photojournalism and documentary photography.

There is so much I love about this photo shoot – it’s the interactions between parents, siblings, and each other that makes me smile. Families will find their outfit choices inspiring. Summer whites complemented with seafoam green dresses on the big sisters = a gorgeous beach palette.
